Yes I did find that many of them were very cheap. But I do agree that for the most part it was out of neccessity.

i have recently registered on facebook and have been in touch with some friends i haven't seen for years.. .
i have always been reluctant to post any pics of me on ex jw public forums or give away too much personal information.

I went to pioneer school. I cannot remember my instructors names though...I think it may have been my CO? Not sure, that was a very long time ago!

we just got back from san francisco where we were married last week.
maybe some day gay couples won't have to travel 1,000 miles to get married, and their commitment of love will be recognized by society.
there will be no need to use code - my friend, my roommate - at the office, with neighbors, or with family when speaking about the person with whom you live your life.
Congratulations to you and yours! I hope you have a wonderful happy life together!
MMO
Well I sure hope so...maybe they will start to think for themselves!!

some topics generate hundreds of reads but few replies.
others, well ... i'm not one for scientific studies.
nor why one thing works and another will not, despite the time and effort put into it (whatever the thing/endeavor happens to be).. kindly inform me if you, in passing by and, having nothing better to do of a saturday eve, happen to see this post but have no intention of responding.. perhaps this is rocket science after all.. thank you for reading though finding no necessity to reply .... "they stayed away in droves.".
Here I am replying...

most of my family have been members since the early 1970's.they attend 3 meetings per week, fly or drive to summer assemblies, preach the average 10 hours per month, and read the same boring watchtower magazine week after week.
the congregation has lost nearly all the young teens, many have quit attending all the meetings, some divorced, and some members just going thru the motions.
i'm never going to question them on why they still remain members but shouldn't all the promises of "this generation never dying" make them question the wts.... just a little?
Its all they have ever known, they are comfortable...
MMO
No.

just conducting a little survey for all of you active members and lurkers of jwd.
just simply proving the importance and support of this website.
for me personally, while i was still in jw land i had always ahd doubts but still generally believed it.
Although I had left the org. many years before discovering this site, it definately opened my eyes. I found out a lot of things I wouldn't have known otherwise...
